This was my second time running this race. We head down to Utah to the in-laws every other year. There are a few turkey trots going on in the Salt Lake area, but this one has the best shirts (although this year's shirt had an ugly red U on the mountain. They will regret that choice on Saturday).

I ran a pretty good race. I wasn't able to keep track of my pace because the battery on my Garmin was dead, but I kept it at a rigorously comfortable pace for the first two miles. It is a pretty hilly race, with a nice downhill at the end. I had enough left in the tank to pick up the pace for the last quarter mile or so and finished almost a minute faster than I ran it two years ago.

Nice race! I was there too...but had to walk in the back. I LOVE the race for the shirt! It's why I drive past 5 other races to get there :) Oh, and the U looks AMAZING! I love it! CONGRATS on the time a new race PR is always good.

Thanks and congrats on your speed walking. Sorry, but win or lose Saturday, I'll be painting over the red U and replacing it with a blue Y. :)
