Grand Junction, CO 5:45pm Pace: 7:50 I drove out by the airport and ran on a road that headed out toward the mountain north of town. Mostly uphill out, downhill back. It was a good run. The only downside was the dust. A few trucks drove by on the dirt road heading up to a shooting range, and one car full of teenagers probably going up to smoke some weed. The end of the road was about 7 miles up, but at 6 miles it was getting dark, so I turned back. At mile 11 it was fully dark and a car passed. In the light of it's taillights I saw a big snake on the road. I kind of freaked out and hurdled it. I think if it had been a cow, I still would have cleared it. |
