I ran today for the first time during the week in a while. Hopefully this week and IBOLC will be better for running. The first two miles I ran, I paced a friend from my Platoon here at BOLC II. She runs really slow and needed someone to pace her. Lets just say we ran two miles in 20:45 and she didn't pass...wow it was painfully slow.

Later tonight I went out and just ran two miles on my own to see if I am still able to get it under 13min. I did it in 12:50 and was feeling pretty tired. I have lost a lot but hopefully tomorrow morning when I run my PT test and compete in the Iron Voyager I will do well!

So this morning I competing in the BOLC II Iron Voyager competition. You had to be able to max the PT test in the 27-31 age category for push-ups and sit-ups (which is harder) and the 21-26 for the run (13:00 for two miles). I ended up doing pretty well and maxed all of the that, then we did pull-ups and dips to make the PT test worth 500 points. I ran my two miles in 12:50, it is a bit hard, but I am fighting through the pain and the slugishness of not doing anything for the past 7 weeks. I ended up with a 511 and it was a lot of fun! Another Battalion coin to add the collection.

Today was our Battalion graduation run. We did about 5 miles averaging a 9:00 in mile. Pretty slow, but I was able to be a road guard and get a little more sprinting which was a better workout. It was nice to get a little longer run in. Things should start to lighten up so I can get back to doing some more running!

This is the most distance I have run in at least a month...and I felt it. I averaged 7:53 which is definitely slower than what I was a few months ago. I was able to do 10 miles in about 70 min...will I ever make it back to where I used to be? Or better for that matter? Frustrating. 1:14:06 for 9.40

7:51  7:39  7:33  7:23   7:35  7:45   8:28   8:21   8:19

Then the final .40 in 3:12.

It was SO nice to get out and run today. I almost hit running every day this week...and really should have not missed Thursday. I am glad that I don't have any field time in the next little while, hopefully I can start picking up my mileage again.

Today I felt pretty sore and tight from running so much yesterday. At mile 4 I saw my wife Heather and finished running back with her, except for the last .75 mile. I was averaging a 7:30 to that point and felt pretty good about that given I haven't run this many miles in a few weeks. I finished the last .75 miles at a 6:12 pace, so I got a little speed in and ended up averaging a 7:43 pace. My miles went something like this:

 8:01   7:35   7:40   7:24   8:30   7:23
