We did our little Iron Man competition this morning and boy it was a smoker. We were in full uniform, IBA (body armor), FLC (suspenders and pouches), rucksack (50lbs at least), and boots. We ran a little over half this distance with all of it. Then dropped the rucksack and finished with IBA and FLC. It was a competition in the company. Each platoon selected 5 two man teams to compete. LT Velasquez and I were the top team from our platoon and we ended up winning the whole thing! I can't say I did a whole lot, I just tried to keep up with him. Phil is a physical monster!

Anyway, we had a great time, but my legs are not going to be happy with me tomorrow!

Ran a PT test today. Did well, was able to max it again and ran my two miles in 12:42. I consider that really well for not being able to run much the last few weeks from being in the field.

A good run today. I didn't run for speed at all and thank goodness...I hurt today! I think just not running for a week and being in the field hurts. I averaged a 7:35 pace. Weather was nice though!

The first time I was able to run since last week. I bruised my knee so it has been stiff and swollen the past few days. It should be healing up nicely now though. I graduate IBOLC on Thursday and will start Ranger School on November 1st!

Had a good run today with the Company therefore it was a little slow. We did it in 37:28 with an average of 8:21 over the whole run.

I graduate IBOLC today! That will be nice, but Ranger school is lurking right around the corner. I am excited to go and learn about myself and what I am capable of, but I know it is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done!

Did a hilly 5 mile run today. Trying to get ready for the Ranger PFT and Ranger School which I start next Sunday. I had a decent time, considering I haven't run consistantly for a little while. I finished in 37:57. I will run another 5 miles tomorrow morning for an RPFT so hopefully my run today won't have a negative effect for tomorrow.

Took the RPFT today and it went well. The 5 mile run was faster for me today although I was definitely feeling a little sore from the run yesterday. I have lost quite a bit, being sore after a five mile run is pretty bad. In May I was running a minimum of 6 miles a day with a couple of 10 mile days and wasn't getting sore at all...goodness, the Army isn't always conducive to longer running, at least not in TRADOC.

I ended up running a 36:01 which was about a 7:12 average. It was pretty rainy today as well, so I should feel a bit encouraged.

Well, this wasn't a run nor a ruck march, but we did ANOTHER land nav iteration. They weren't even scoring it today and it didn't matter how many points you got, so a buddy of mine and I just kind of walked around and got the closest points we could in order to get back in 4 hours. They score sheet had nine points and we got five of them. I can only imagine how much further we would have gone if we would have tried to get all nine points...it would have been a long one!

Today went out on a run with Heather and pushed Ethan in the stroller. We went pretty slow, Heather is 20 weeks pregnant, but still able to job a little bit.  We averaged about a 10:10 pace. It was nice to go at a slow pace and get some miles down. Sunday is Ranger School!

Did a little three mile run today, just to make sure my body is a well oiled machine for Ranger School! I took it easy the first half and picked it up a little bit the rest of the way.

This is my last post before going to Ranger School, the next post will most likely be sometime around Christmas. Wish me luck!
