Ephraim's Grave

Up willow to the cut-off and over the pass.  That hill was bigger than I remember.  Once at the top the maze of trails tricked me and I ended up "exploring" more than needed.  I paid homage to Old Ephraim's grave, but I was eyeballing the small trail heading up that hollow.  I checked it out and was rewarded by 2 huge moose eyeballing me. They were about 100m away, but very wary of me.  Of course, no camera today.  Figures.  I only saw one person (hunter) the whole time, so I ended up winning the large animals versus people count.  After bailing on my exploring trip, I followed the road all the way to Ricks and took that trail back to the car.  Tired, but satisfied.

** On a more important note, Paul got his marathon trials qualifying time today. 2:18:48!

Nice! solid run, and I'm sure you're liking the pretty solid week compared to last too. And thanks for sharing on Paul...that's awesome for him!!

I just looked on the site and it has his time listed at 2:19:48? Is that right? Isn't sub 2:19 the qualifying time?

Oh man, earlier today it showed 2:18:48. Why did it change? That is not good...I guess I celebrated too soon?

Yeah, I signed up for text msg notification from Paul's race. It said 2:18:47. But when I called to congratulate him, he said all the times were off 1 minute. Bummer.

Sounds like a fun run- pretty cool seeing 2 moose at one time. And Ephraim's Cut Off is always hillier than I remember, too.

Sorry that you had to un-celebrate.

I was very disappointed....in the timing screw-up. So mean....
