So are you at least enjoying the riding a little bit, since you are relegated to only that for a while? That seems like it can't be that bad of a deal, you're getting some good riding and vertical in, which is certainly going to help your fitness. I always find myself loving riding every time I get out and do it. And I only don't do it more often because of limited time and my time available defaults first to running.

I am actually loving the mountain biking. I almost get the same trail fix as I do running. Not quite. The hard part is that not all trails are accessible by bike that are runnable. Once the snow melts it will be even better and I can get further up the mountain. I do love the vertical. Hills are good!

i'm a biker now too. how do you convert your bike to running miles?

From Cody on Mon, Jun 06, 2011 at 16:53:39 from 67.137.240.195

Allie-

For the most part, I convert 10 mins to a mile. Sometimes biking is easier, but for the most part, my effort is equal, but I still play it conservative and say I am only running 10 min miles.

Good Luck with your injury. Its rough.
