30 miles of cross training and 26 miles of running for the week? Sweet, I hope you ate a ton and got fat, too.
I've discovered the key to beach running is to do it near low tide, so you can run on the hard sand but it has a more gradual slope (and smaller waves) near the water. And I have to wear my shoes, too.

I couldn't that very easily as the beach was sloped way too steep for that to work. I was running hills doing that. Something like 10-15% grade.
