Easy 3 miles including 5 strides.  Felt pretty good. I am going to SLC today for the night then on to SG on Friday.

This is a comparison of this year and last  for the three months leading up to the marathon.  (July, Aug, Sept).

So, even though I was plagued with injuries during the summer, I have been able to train slightly better (more volume and more big workouts) than last year.  Combine that with course experience and I should PR this year.  So my goals for the race are as follows:

  • PR (sub 2:38:47)
  • Sub 2:35 is possible.
  • Top 20 overall
  • Chick count = 0
  • Enjoy it

Good luck down there. I think you've got a really good shot at knocking off all of your goals on the list....that relay you ran really helped kick-start your fitness :0)!!!

Seriously, make sure you wear your fast shoes and I'll anxiously await your race report detailing your absolute and utter victory.

Thanks Dale - Time to go execute the plan...

Yeah I'm afraid your chick count will have to be zero unless you have a major blow up. Your comparison shows you should have a similar if not better race. Are you planning to pace for a PR (2:38) for for a 2:35 for the first half.

From cody on Thu, Oct 02, 2008 at 11:02:57

My plan is a 1:19-1:20 first half. That sets me up for a PR (worst case) and within reach of 2:35 if all goes well.

It is proble a little late, you won't see this until after the marathon.

I just wanted to wish you luck. I hope you have a great race.
