Recovery run.

5:40 am, 46° F, 89% humidity, no wind.

How about this? Two recovery days in a row. But then I have a mock tune-up race tomorrow and my last long run on Saturday.

I don't really consider myself a morning person. If I had no responsibilities, I would stay up late and sleep in. It is hard for me to get up in the morning. However, I have to say that once I am up, I really like the feel of the early mornings - the quietness and stillness and the crisp air. We really are having wonderful mornings for the most part these days - not too hot and not too cold. I'm starting to run into sprinklers on my runs now, but it's not warm enough for me to want to run through the sprinklers. That time will probably come soon.

High School Graduation is tonight. I've got to figure out how to get to Red Rocks Amphitheater. I've never been there.

AP: 10:03. Splits: 10:44, 10:09, 9:52, 9:45, 9:44. That really slow miles at the beginning really skews my average pace.

I think the Red Rock ampitheather sounds like a beautiful place for a graduation ceremony. I can picture it- with Yanni playing in the background.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy the morning and the beauty that can be found there. You deserve to enjoy some good things in life after the doozey of a week you've had.

Congratulations to you and your son on his graduation.

I feel the same way about mornings! It's hard to drag out of bed, but they've been SO nice lately it makes it worth it! I still cuss the people that have turned on their sprinklers already here. It's been wet and cold enough that it's not NEEDED.

Nice work on that recovery run and I hope things go wonderfully with the graduation. I think I've been to red-rocks once - as a tourist of course :)

So funny that you are not a morning person! You are always up in the morning. It must take superhuman will and determination (which I do not doubt that you have) to get up for all those early workouts.

I have seen the Red Rocks place! What a gorgeous place for a graduation! And it sounds like you have the weather for it. Enjoy.

i love to watch the sunrise on a morning run. i just don't like pulling myself out of the comfy, cozy bed. 99% of the time my lazy side wins.

Red Rocks is one of my favorite places. I used to do my "new years day" hike up there every year I lived in Denver (always in shorts - it was always so lovely!).

Congratulations to your son Carolyn (and you!).

How great to have two recovery days in a row! I hope your day has not been too stressful with graduation prep and your in laws in town. Enjoy graduation tonight, it is a perfect night for it!
