Medium-long run.

10:02 am, 33-36° F, 81% humidity, wind 5 NNW, overcast with a sprinkling of snow on the grass, but not on the roads or sidewalks.

My daughter asking me this morning, "why can't we just have spring weather." I'd like to know the answer to that myself.

As I near the end of this training plan, I have to say that the hardest thing for me about this training plan has been the weekday medium-long runs. It's not so much that they're physically demanding, though they are that, but that they take such a big chunk of time. In order to do one of these runs in the morning and be done before the boys all leave for school, I need to be out the door between 4:30 and 4:45, and I just can't manage that most of the time. It would be interesting to look back at my blog entries and see how many of these medium-long runs I actually did first thing in the morning. With cold temperatures and snow on the ground this morning, I opted to sleep in a bit, then get up and work and run later. Of course, it wasn't much warmer at 10:00 or noon than it had been at 5:00 am.

I departed a bit from my normal routes today and ran through Lone Tree on Yosemite Street. It turns out that section of Yosemite Street is pretty hilly.

AP: 9:11. Splits: 9:47, 9:30, 9:20, 9:08, 9:25 (Park Meadows Center Drive from Acres Green to Yosemite), 9:25 (Yosemite Street), 9:19, 9:00, 8:51, 9:09, 9:06, 8:56, 8:54, 8:46.

It's great that you have a job that allows you the flexibility to get out later in the day. It is one of the things I value most about my job.

Nice run... I'm with your daughter... I'm ready for some spring (Not summer) weather.

It is a great thing that you have that freedom to work from home. Otherwise, you're right, those long runs midweek would be pretty hard to squeeze in.

I can't believe you're getting snow! Our weather lately has been pretty conducive to running. I'd be wanting to throw in the towel if I was still having to put on multiple layers for running in May.

Nice pace for a mid-week MLR.

That's exactly the same problem I have with a mid-week, med-long run! And I would REALLY like to be doing them. I'd have to be out at 4:30. It totally wrecks my day to get up so early and then have that kind of workout. I'm useless the rest of the day, which I just can't afford. Sigh.

Your training is going great. Almost there.

Hmmmm....let's see who we call miles!!!! I believe you are running as many as I am, you must be INSANE!!!!

I agree about the mid week long run, it is certainly hard to schedule with kids and a life and a job! i do not know how you do it. The only way I can ever pull it off is by going out twice in a day! You are an amazing runner and so dedicated (anyone whop gets up that early....DEDICATION!)

Kelli, you're 2 miles ahead of me so far this week and 22 miles ahead of me so far this month. You win on the mileage.

You're doing an amazing job juggling family, work, and training. I agree w/ these midweek MLR. They are the hardest to get up for especially during cold dark mornings. Keep up the good work. You're almost at the end of this mesocycle!

Hey, the month is not over yet (neither is the week!!!)
