Today's Foster City run didn't go as well as yesterdays. First of all, I got started later, but that doesn't really matter because I don't have an early meeting today. The real problem occurred about a mile into the run. I was looking at a street sign on a corner where I turn because I always have trouble remembering the name of that street (I think it's Beach Front Drive or something like that). I failed to notice an uneven spot in the sidewalk, caught my toe on it, and went down. I hit my right knee and my hands. My hands are fine. My knee is a little scraped up and is hurting a bit. I got back up and was standing there assessing the damage, and a lady in a car pulled up and asked if I was alright. So she made up for the unfriendly runners that I encounter around here. I told her that I was okay and continued on with my run.
Speaking of unfriendly runners, probably more than half ignored me this morning, but the friendliest of them was an older Asian man who was waving his arms in circles while he ran.
I ran slower than I did yesterday and I stopped a few times on the trail and tried to take pictures with my phone. If I can manage to get them off my phone I'll try to post one if there's a decent one. Also, my husband called me during the run and I stopped to him. So basically, the run was slow and full of stops and starts.
OK. I managed to get a picture off my phone. It's not a great picture. It just kind of shows the trail on the edge of the bay which constitutes about half of the 5 mile loop that I run when I'm here.
