Easy run + 2 x 8-sec. hill sprints.

6:18 am, 34-42°F, 34% humidity, wind 7 SSW.

My eating has been out of control for the last week. I am confessing. I did weigh in yesterday and I was up 2.6 pounds. Time to get serious again. I don't know if I can do it. Too much stress at home.

I did manage to get out and run this morning despite that I was up late last night finishing World Without End.

This week I was supposed to run 5 + hill sprints on Monday, 8 on Tuesday, and 5 + hill sprints on Thursday. I didn't run on Monday, and did Monday's run on Tuesday. I didn't run on Wednesday (I didn't even do the shred either). So today I probably should have done Tuesday's 8 miler, but I didn't get out early enough, so I did the 5 + hill sprints. So I've been slacking on my running as well as on my eating.

I took the run nice and easy today. I'm still a little anxious about this coming Saturday.

CinC ... you should not be stressing about long runs. Tell them that you will be running your own pace and if someone runs with you then great ... if not, then just wait, 2 months from now you will running faster than them and will have to slow down for them. Seriously. You need to relax.

yeah, it's Easter. You're allowed to eat whatever you want.

Did you finish Pillars of the Earth AND World Without End AND Fall of Giants? You would be on the top of the reading board on fastreadingblog.com. See my entry from yesterday for an explanation, which was supposed to be satiric and I fear no one got it.

Oh, and Carolyn, I agree. Don't stress about running OR about being up 2.6 pounds. You know that you were emotionally drained when you felt like a "slave" to the plan, and you are still down in weight over the past 4 weeks!

You are doing great, and it's hard not eat whatever candy the Easter bunny brought...but it won't be around forever. Soon as you eat it all you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Sometimes life just throws us crappy crud to deal with! You are doing a good job handling it all, give yourself a break.

Your running schedule this weeks sounds like the rearranging that I was doing when I was last running.

Great job fitting it all in, and like everyone else says don't worry about the long runs.

Tracy, I've read Fall of Giants, World Without End, and The Art of Racing in the Rain all in the last couple of weeks. I haven't read Pillars of the Earth yet because I'm still on the wait list at the library for it. I checked today and I'm #9 on the list and they have several copies, so it shouldn't be too much longer until I get it. I should take a break from reading though, because I don't do much else and am not much use to anybody when I'm reading a book.
