Had a crazy morning of "tri" training. Started out with a planned 2 or so hour ride. Ended up running into Mark Larsen who I'm told is the best cyclist in STG and one of the best in Utah. I passed him lol... about 1 mile after starting then 2 miles later he passed me. I then realized it was him. So I road up aside and introduced myself and asked to tag along. So out to Sand hollow we road chit chatting a long the way. It was fun to pick his brain about things. I had to turn around early to get back and do a run then pick up Myler. So at 20 miles out I flipped it (basically right at the lake entrance). Road solid back until I came into Washington and I got my first flat tire. Of all the days. I needed every second on my clock to get everything done before 11:30 to pick up the boy. So I changed the tire and lost about 7 min's but though it was still doable. Then started riding about a block and the new tube "blew up". Dang it! Now I'm in a situation. Started walking and hitchhiking but no luck. Finally called my wife and luckily she hadn't left for Vegas yet. So she was able to come pick up the bike and bring my running cloths. 35 mile ride before the flat. 8.6 mile run. I changed cloths in the truck then headed out for the run. Mik'L had taken the jogger to Myler's preschool so I could run there and then bring him home in it. So I was able to get in 3.9 miles before he was done with school then another 4.7 from school back home. So after all the drama I only lost 5 miles of riding and .8 miles of running from my original plan. But the extra stress made it feel like much more. I've been dreading the flat tire thing... It sucks.
