6.5 mile run on the GS loop. After a weekend of gluttony and sloth I was happy to get out and run off all the trash in my system. My left hamstring has been sore since the run on Saturday. I've been trying to rub it out but it's still pretty sore. Hope it's nothing too serious.

7.2 miles tonight up through GS and over the Powerline trail down to Middleton. The legs are pretty sore. I'm not sure why. Just hearing people talk about a race makes me feel it in the legs. It's time for nothing more than slow easy miles.

6.5 mile GS loop. It is suprisingly warm in the morning. At 6:30 it's dark and you'd expect it to be cold. Today it was 59 degrees before I went out. Just shorts and a T' shirt. I'm loving it. The weather man says it will cool off later this week. Bummer!

10.3 mile trail run tonight. I went out exploring some new trails tonight so when I started I didn't know if it would be 6 or 15 miles... The map calls this trail the Black Knolls trail. It shows it comming off the turkey farm road south east until it hit the powerline trail. Well I went out and ran up the powerline trail to the watertank and then up the turkey farm road a little more than a mile and a half past the watertank to where the trail head takes off. I followed the trail the best I could but it kind of vanishes into the rock and dirt. So I just made up the rest of the trail down to the powerline trail and back home.

I'll have to run it again and find where it really comes down. The way I came off the hill requiered some free climbing off the lava flow. Beautiful fall evening for a run.

6.5 mile GS loop. I try doing this loop both way as to not get sick of it. Most of the time it's in the dark so it really doesn' matter.

8 miles. My Halloween run. Today I decided to dress up for my afternoon run just to show a little Halloween spirit. I decided to go as an Olympic Trials runner and I would call myself Paul Fielding (for no reason other than this sounded like a fast running name). I just wore a short pair of running shorts and instead of the sponsored running singlet and number across my chest- the no shirt look sounded good today since the skies were blue, there was no wind and my race day temperature was hovering right around a lovable 80 degrees.

I made my way up through the desert reserve to the power line trail and then connected to the GS loop. As I made my way through the neighborhoods around the golf course little children were already out dressed as Spiderman and pirates. They would say “look mommy that guys is going to run in the American Olympic Marathon Trials on Saturday with Meb, Ryan, and all the other running Gods.” I just chuckled and said “no- not me boys. I have a couple friends who will be there and they are amazing.”

Anyways it was a great run and I came home to my own little fast running Kellers making pumpkin cookies and blasting here new I-pod music through our house… Now to give out candy for the rest of the evening. I thought about giving Cliff bars instead but didn’t have time to get to Costco. So it’s Kit Kat, Peanut Butter cups, and other sugar junk Kellers likes to buy.

I finished off October with right at 300 miles. Maybe a few too many for the month after STGM. I'm looking forward to mid December and January when I can cut things back and rest the system to get ready for next year.

4.2 mile run this morning. I went over to Wendy's a and looped around that block. Then headed back down to the "Y junction and back on Middleton Dr. Just a short one this morning. Busy day planned. Hope to get to the club run tonight at 5:30 and get a few more in.

8.7 mile club run tonight. Perfect temps and running conditions tonight. A large group of people showed up so that was cool. We went up the Chuckawalla trail and down off the rim into the Entrada housing project area. Then back on the paved trail. Overall it was a great run. I left my keys inside the store and was worried that they would get locked up for the night so I pushed it once I hit the trail. Hit sub 6 min pace for the last 3 or so miles. The fastest one being at 5:47. Not flying by any means, but for the first time since the marathon a month ago I felt like I could put it in gear and run. So it was nice to get a mini tempo in. Maybe I can start to shake all the sluggish junk out... We will see if and when I run the half marathon on Nov 17 in Snow Canyon.

6.5 mile run this morning in GS. After pushing it a little last night I thought I'd feel sluggish this morning. But I felt great. It's about time I finally started to feel like running was fun again. Anyways the legs are really feeling sharp. I going to say the half in a couple weeks is a go.

7 miles tonight. Up to the watertank and down the S' road off by Twin Lakes. Felt amazing tonight. I did and so did the climate. Shorts and running singlet and it's November 2. As I came by the power station I felt my body want to go faster and faster. By the time I was coming down the S' curves I was flying. I didn't have a garmin on (wish I had worn it), but I've never felt that swift... ever. I had to be hitting 4:40 or so pace as I came down off there. What a fun run. It got me all pumped for the 2008 race year. Good things to come.

Flew down to PHX today for our twice a year business stuff. With watching the trials stuff this morning and packing for the trip I didn't get out at home before we left. So once we got here I got out. It was warm out around 88 or 90 degrees. I went up a trail that I ran a few months ago with Paul and David on our Del Sol trip. After I got up to the top I turned down a river trail and ran it down a few miles. I was feeling a little trashed and looked at the garmin and I was going around 6:20 pace. So I told myself to slow down. It felt like the pace had slowed but never really got over 6:40. So after doing that to around mile 8 or so I dropped below 6 min pace for three miles and then 1 mile of cool down.

Good job to Paul, Logan, and Sean today. You guys are amazing.
