6 miles. Decided to go shorter and try doing some doubles to break up the suffering. Going 5-6 twice a day sounds much easier than 10 at once. We'll see how it goes. Started off and I felt really crappy. Ran over to the park and just did laps on the grass as it felt better on the hip and knee.

7 miles this evening. Felt a little better but I'm on the downside of a breakdown.

Hip is really jacked. 40 min's on the elliptical was all I could muster.

50 min's on the elliptical. Went to the chiro again with little progress or faith in his work. Battling a spring head cold too. Having a hard week.

36 mile ride at 21.3 mph avg. Same airport/ sunriver ride as last week. Battled wind on every westbound leg but kept it solid throughout. Tried to stay relaxed and not overdue it as so I'm ready for another bigger ride tomorrow.

Boys ride today. 65.2 miles w/ Paul, Bob and Bubba with Tom joining later. We did the 2 lakes loop. Out to Sand Hollow then Hurricane, La and up to the freeway- then down into Leeds, Quail lake and home. Pretty good ride with a 19.3 mph avg. We started off hot and cold going hard then stopping and waiting for Bubba who ended up having to turn around on time. Then through the middle section of the ride pace was pretty chill  and I didn't really get going until we hit the freeway on the way back. From there on home I tried to keep the pace honest. It got really warm (85F) and none of us were ready for the heat.

60.6 mile ride today. We had an Easter egg hunt out at the GC at Sand Hollow. After that I decided to ride the ironman course and then home. 20.4 mph avg. Legs felt pretty good considering this was the first time I've ever ridden 3 days in a row outside. And yesterdays ride was no push over. Didn't attack the course but tried to keep it uptempo throughout. Really only relaxed up Snow Canyon. I decided to just relax up through there and see what I'd ride it in. Thought I'd be around 20 min's... Started the climb at the bottom payhouse at 2:00:35 seconds into my ride- got to the top payhouse 2:20:36. ha pretty dang close. So the difference between hammering it 17:20 and EZ 20:01 isn't that much. I decided it isn't worth the extra energy to try and overpower that climb.

Pretty good ride and result- even had a decent headwind coming from the west throughout. I"m guessing that's gonna be there almost everyday so I'll expect nothing less on race day. Another hot day at 85 F and I got some nasty tan lines to show for the hours out in the sun.
