Club run early here at my house. Billy boy even joined us. No watch but pace wasn't very fast. Not supposed to be when it's this early and cold. With lots of spitting and moaning we all made it back.

I'm in a totally different place than 3 weeks ago. Then I was feeling great and looking to really hammer the spring. Now I'm totally trashed, my sports hernia hurts worse than it's ever done before and for the most part I just ache thinking about running. Hopefully this will pass. But because of the present situation I haven't registered for LA and am having second thoughts about doing a marathon this spring. Because as of today- there would be no way I'd be running anything close to 2:30.

You might want to take a week off and do some biking or something. It was great running with you guys again.

Its weird that your body has kinda done a 180 on you.

Rob M gave some good advice (in my opinion) to Emily J last summer when she was feeling in a rut. He told her to get out of her normal routine a bit - do her easier runs WAY slower and easier than you would even thinking would be beneficial... and then throw in some days with some short, faster stuff. 200m reps, 1 minute efforts, etc. Could be enough to shock the system and wake it up. Just something to think about. You obviously have been at this for long enough to know what you are doing.

Yeah the body is weird. You just never know when it comes to distance running. A continual roller coaster of emotions and physical feelings. "Shocking" the system works. I've used the tactic over the years. I'm just hoping my sports hernia isn't as serious as it's feeling... if so "shocking" the system isn't going to turn things around.

Yeah the hernia isn't going to get better on my advice, that's for sure. I guess I wasn't really taking that into consideration.
