13.5 miles on a club run early this morning

1.5 miles on treadmill this afternoon

Morning run was nice... We ran from Dixie Center up the back side of the black hill up past SC High school and then over to Bluff st. Then to main and down to the Dixie Center.

The first 9 miles were riddled with uphills and it seemed to go on forever. Then we started making our way back down through town. I wasn't using the lap button so I didn't have anything cool to review when I got home. However around the last 3 or so miles we were at 6:00 min or below mile pace. I had been having stomach issues all week and this morning I almost made it without trouble. However with only one mile left in the run I had to stop at the Golden Arches and take a bio brake. It sucked because at this point of the run we were really moving along and I was starting to have fun.

Anyways finished up the last mile to the car and told the guys bye. I still needed 1.5 miles for the day to get me to 100 miles for the week so later that afternoon I hit the treadmill for a nice easy 1.5 mile run.

Glad the week is over. There is a big difference in 80 mpw and 100 mpw. I just wanted to get one in before Boston.

Clyde, in response to your comment on my blog, a headlamp will be good for the relay. Some people prefer a very small light to carry in their hand instead. I usually end up carrying my headlamp in my hand, because I don't like it jiggling around while I run. But they are useful to have in the van as well. Also, if you have a reflective vest, you should bring it.

Our start time will either be 6PM or 7PM on Friday. We should be one of the top 3 teams there, and have a shot to win if we bring our "A" game. Did you get my email last night about the course changes? I think one of your legs is affected.

Keep up the hard work!

I used a small light Paul is referring to when I ran Hood to Coast. It's not so much for you to see the road, but to identify you to the oncoming traffic. But it is lightweight and comfortable to run with. There was usually enough light to see where you're going. Definitely wear reflective vest. In fact, I think it was a requirement in Hood to Coast for all night time legs.

Paul I saw the email with the changes to the course.

Thanks to both you and Maria for the headlamp idea. I'll have to find something that works and still lets me run without messing around with it all the time.
