10.2 miles running with the guys this morning on the DC loop. Felt horrible. Pain level was an 8.5 or higher all run. Along with the normal aches of the right hurt ankle, and my left side (abs, thigh, hip and hammy). I've also developed something new. Saturday night I went to sleep and woke up Sunday morning with plantar fasciitis  on the left foot. Can barely walk on the sucker. Or maybe a bone spur on the left heel? Nonetheless my body is just falling apart. So I just worked like a dog to get through the run this morning. Could have bagged it but I feel jacked not running too... so I might as well get out with the guys here and there to keep up on the social side of life.

Came home and got on the spinner for 30 mins to try and loosen up. Energy output was low. Just didn't have any juice in the legs. It's hard mentally because I just think I can go do whatever I want to and now with my new broken body I can't do anything. Big paradigm shift.

Is there any cross training that you can do that doesn't hurt? I know it sucks not to run, but you can somewhat maintain your fitness with some cross training for a while...Sometimes rest is the only way to heal and be able to run pain-free again. :o( Sorry to hear about this. Any good sports medicine docs down there? The one you went to last time didn't seem to help at all!

I feel bad for you man. I see you going through the same thing I've been watching Andrea go through since the summer. Maybe just shutting it down for a bit might actually help... not in terms of immediate relief, but it might allow to healing to get jumpstarted. I'd hate to see you end up w/ some major compensation injury. But I also totally understand the desire to keep trying and hoping that it'll come around.

We're pulling for you!

Thanks guys. I'm getting really close to that total "shut down". I've actually only been running 30 or so real miles a week- everything else is cross training. I'm so so frustrated... just sucks. However cycling doesn't hurt too bad and I can handle the elliptical. I also think I'll keep all future runs to 6 miles or less as it seems like once I get to that point the pain seems to double.

Take it from me I've been through so many injuries the last few years.

Jake and Adam are right shutting the running down is really what will fix the issue quickly even though we hate it (I personally hated it). But the cross-training will keep the fitness with spinning, swimming and elliptical. Your in my prayers my friend.

Hang in the there Clyde! Injuries suck! I'm praying for you dude!

Thanks so much guys. I feel kind of sheepish. There are much more deserving places to place your prayers. But I do love the blessings coming for your prayers:). Truly "Thanks".
