Well after having 3 great workouts last week I was due for a thud. Today I hit the wall- Big time. The workout was to do 2 miles, 1 mile, 2 miles @ LT with 2 min recovery. It was hot out (85 f at 4:50 a.m) and from the time we left my driveway I knew things were going to be scary.

We took off and I hit the first set in 5:23 (slight down), 5:42 (good uphill with headwind for half of this mile). But just finishing this off was labor and I knew I was toast.

Next one mile set in 5:55. I hit this mile easier and faster last week durning a Tinman workout.

Last 2 mile set in.... Well I wasn't even going to go out but started and did the first mile in 6:15 and was totally spent. Overheated, overtrained and under rested. Couldn't get the legs to go.

I finally got up to where the guys had finished their sets and we all jogged back to my house. The cool down was at 8:20 pace or whatever but it felt like too much. Man I was dead.

Got home and tried to hydrate and rest. I'll go see April tonight and try to take the rest of the week EZ as we have no big workouts planned until next Tuesday.

I had one of those types of workouts last week. I got going and then wham, just didn't have anything in the tank. Frustrating, but you'll bounce back quick

Dang, that's hot, no wonder! You should spend the summer up in Logan next year. Highs are still in the 90s, but lows are around 50 right now! Makes for some great morning running.

Still a bit workout! You are pounding out some hard miles, the recovery time should help your get refreshed.

It had to be the heat Clyde.

85 at 4:50 am? That's just unfair. A slowdown that bad is going to be heat related.

Yeah it was hot but my legs were just still trashed from last week. The heat thing we deal with all the time:)
