7.2 miles up Middleton trail and around GS. I felt the need for a little more that what was on the schedule today. I just kept the pace smooth and relaxed and had a really good run. I stayed up way too late last night watching the game. USC just blew their season with that game against Oregon St. I really wish the college system was different and had a playoff formate so when teams lost one game during the regular season it wouldn't just drop them off the face of the planet. Bummer!

(Landreth- 431.5)

5 miles this afternoon around the GS/ Church loop. I was going to do some grass but opted to settle a shoe decision instead. I've been going back and forth about what shoe to wear at STM. My old Asics Ohana's or a newer pair of Asics Speedstars. The Ohana's are magical and I have some solid history in that particular pair. However the Speedstars are new and I've worn this model in STG the last two years. So today I took the Ohanas out for a run to see what they felt like... sad but they are shot. I've know this all summer but somehow they were just begging to race one more time. I'll just go with the Speedstars. I've only wore this particular pair for 49.4 miles and they should be ready for a good race.

The run it's self was good. I just tried to be very fluid and efficient while doing the test run in the Ohanas. I ended up with a avg of 6:50 for the run and it felt like I was coasting.

(Ohana Racers- Retired for now, maybe a few speed workouts sometime)

I got busy packing up boxes for our big move, that I missed the game, but I was able to see most of the highlights on SportsCenter. I would really like to see BYU keep winning and even Utah so the Mountain West could get some more recognition.

Hey

I asked Dave, but he has been pretty busy. Do you have a written plan or schedule you guys have been following for your training. If so I wouldn't mind getting a copy or at least some ideas on the bigger workouts. Paul gave me some ideas last year, and I feel my training has been better this year, but I still feel like I have much more room to improve.

I really would like to do a spring marathon this year and possibly the New York Marathon next fall.

I have to tell you (even though I've never met you) that you look SOOO much like my husband. My 2 year old walked in the room when your blog was pulled up and he said, "there's daddy". I laughed cuz I thought the same thing.

Great win for Oregon St. I really felt going in the season that USC was way overrated and that Oklahoma and Georgia will be the powers.

Michelle- You must have a very handsome hubby!

Kory- I think Oklahoma and Georgia are as overrated as any other team out there. However with USC losing I'd be happy to see Florida move on up, and BYU obviously.

Will see with Oklahoma and Georgia. With Georgia playing Alabama that's going to be tough. I watched Oklahoma last week and they are not overrated they look good.

BYU barely beat Washington I don't think they have been proven. Not to say their not a good team. Will see.

I love the Ohana racers and will wear them. I don't really like my pair of Bandito's racers, they hurt my foot when I ran in them in the Salt Lake Marathon this year.
