| | I need to work on getting more sleep.. I was able to go to Jeff's Mom's funeral today, and that was a special experience.
It was really windy today so my mentality was try to be better than all my competitors. I did the TEAM warmup and then we did the additional warmup to get ready for a distance workout. My legs were feeling pretty rested from the weekend break even though the calfs were still tight. I changed into my kinvaras. I did the 1600 workout today. We were to do two sets of 200, 400, 600, 400, 200. I did my first set with Carson, but he wasn't really hanging with me. I was about 4:40 pace except on the 600 where we had to battle the wind a lot. I ran the second set with Ryan and Fess, but I was beating them too. Ryan was with me on the last one or two though. My legs got really tired by the end, probably from fighting the wind. The wind also made it a lot harder to breath. I was really happy with it.
I did just over 25 minutes on the treadmill inside after. It was a good day and good workout! Things are looking bright

| | Woke up not knowing what day it was. I need to get more sleep big time.
Rob said today was a mediocre day, not easy but not hard. He then told us to run 4 miles.... I thought to myself that's a really easy day. So I ran seven miles to get what he wanted. I averaged 6:40ish. Things felt pretty good. My calfs and ITband were tight, but the legs didn't feel dead like they have the last week. I got back and changed into my spikes and did 3x150 finishes.
Hurdles/light strength/stability, stretching, abs and hips after

5 Way Region One Dual (0.497 Miles) 00:02:07, Place overall: 2, Place in age division: 2 | | I wasn't well hydrated from doing concrete today. I helped run the meet for the first half. I warmed up and my legs were a bit tired from yesterday. I ended up doing a lot of strides/runouts because it took longer than I thought. The viewmont guy took it out really hard. I went with him the first 100 but then realized he was flying so just tried to feel it through. I went through 400 in 61, and then kind of locked up. I really struggled that last 300. I also was in no mans land so didn't have anyone to go after. It was decent but I was hoping to run a 2:04. I cooled down a mile. I did a quick warmup to lead off the Syracuse Project 4x400. It was the best I think I've ever felt in a 400. I split 55, so that redeemed my 800. Hopefully between the two of those that will help my speed some. I did a two mile cooldown and some light stretching.

| | Buhrley talked for an hour today about officiating so we got started really late, so all I basically did was run and lightly stretch.
I did 60 minutes of "park run." I hit all the churches and parks and ran around them a bunch staying on the soft surfaces. I also ran around the fields by the school. I didn't try to push it too much. All the changing directions and uneven surface was a change for the legs. I did two barefoot strides after. Things felt pretty good once I was done.
We're doing a time trial 3200 tomorrow, hopefully I can do pretty well.

| | I was able to turn today into a pretty solid workout, at least I think. I warmed up and got ready for our time trial. We had to wait for the sprinters to get done and so it wasn't an ideal warmup, but pretty track typical. My butt/hamstrings were feeling a little tight and tired, so I knew it would be tough to run really fast. I tried to pace through the first mile at actual pace and went through in 4:59 or 5:00. I slowed down because I would rather run well next week at districts. I helped pull through Ryan and Fess through that second mile. I finished right behind Ryan in 10:26 which was solid becuase that used to be a pretty hard effort. Which it was but I know I can run much better. After I changed from kinvaras to spikes and ran 4 200s to work on the leg speed. I hit 27, 30, 29, 30. Then I went out and did 25 easy minutes. I'm excited for next week.

| | I waited until the later morning to get in my long run since I haven't had a good one for a while. I think I was aerobically taxed from yesterday, because that didn't feel great, but it was a good effort and I know I'll get some good benefits from it. My right ankle tendonitis was hurting at points, especially with 3ish miles to go. It went away though. I pushed the last few miles a little harder to work on the long aerobic strength. I ran just under 6 minutes for the last mile. 72:36 for 11 miles, which is 6:36 average. Solid effort for sure. Now I need to recover for some big races next week.
