15K - 1:13:11 (Tulsa Run Oct. 2005)

Half Marathon - 1:50:20 (OKC Memorial April 2006)

Marathon - 4:19 (Tulsa Route 66 Nov. 2006)

Short-Term Running Goals:

Would love to eventually break 23 minutes for a 5K...or even around 22 minutes. That may entail some weight loss on my part. Planning on another half in November...and hope to break my PR.

Well why not. First entry ever. I found out about this site through Randy McDermott. We've known each other for about 12 years.

 As for the run...

9 miles along the Riverparks late this morning at a 9:43 pace. Typical Oklahoma weather...upper 80s and a dewpoint around 70...south wind. Breathing felt good. Right calf a little tight on mile 9.

Weights at the Y...chest and arms. I've neglected my strength training over the past 3 months and it shows. Pathetic...but I have to start back somewhere.

 3 miles on the treadmill. 6x440 around a 1:40-1:45 pace with a 440 jog inbetween.

 Right knee was sore this morning but felt fine after warming up.

Just started graveyard shifts...which always crushes my running for a week. Funny thing is...I sure feel a lot better if I force myself out the door and get a few miles in.

Only had 5 hours sleep this morning.

4 miles at 9:09 pace in stinking hot weather. 92F with a 71F dewpoint.

Still working nights. Woke up at 2 pm and 97 degrees. No way.

6 miles in 53:38 on the Y treadmill.

Hot! 97F with a 106F heat index. This is the hottest weather I've experienced in my short running career.

6 miles along the Arkansas River in around 57 minutes. 

Only saw one other runner and 2 bikers along the way.

Managed to get out at 9 am for my run...although it was already 85 degrees.

Got in 8 miles in 1:16. Had to stop for a few minutes after 6.5...just wasn't feeling right. Last 1.5 was very slow.

And my shower didn't take.

Ran a slow 3.1 with my wife...around 35 minutes. She's been doing great with her running...getting much stronger.

104 degrees when I got off head straight to the gym.

6 miles...first 3 in 28:30...last 3 in 25:30.

Tossing and turning this went out for a short unplanned run. Don't remember the time...around 32 minutes. I do remember wringing out my shirt.

2 laps around LaFortune golf course for 6.2 miles in around 57 minutes. Flipping hot...92 degrees.

4.5 mile run through the neighborhood at the best time for summertime August running...2 pm.

I'm smart like that.

Is it possible that I'm actually getting used to the heat? Nawww......

Ran 3 with my wife this morning down on the River Trails. 33 minutes.

Drove back home and did another 4.75 through the neighborhood.

A lot going on in my life right now (it's good but exhausting). Rough day...only 3 hours of sleep and up at 5 am for work.

Got off work at 2 pm and had to make the decision to take a nap or go for a run. Choose to run...getting in 4.25 in 40 minutes flat. Pretty steamy...93F.

Have to say I feel pretty good now...but the crash and burn will come this evening.

3 miles yesterday in 23:37. That's a pretty hard run for me.

Started to lightning and thunder at my turn around point.

Last mile in 7:37...not bad.

Finally a nice cool dry morning. 7 miles along the Arkansas River in 62 minutes. Ran a 8:20 and 7:45 last 2 miles.

Ran 3.25 this morning with my wife. Time was around 34 minutes. Best weather in months...about 70s degrees...light wind and low dewpoints.

Ran another mile in 7:25...then a slow .25 back to the car.

Dewpoints are were its at! The runners I work with all have their different formulas (T+Td) for comfort. Anything around over 160 gets tough for me.
