This morning I had plans on running double digits, but my sister-in-law called and needed help with her homework. I ended up getting to work at 10am and wishing all day that I could go home and run. There wasn't much going on at work, so at three o'clock when I got a text message about going to play flag football in an hour, I took off. I ran the 3.39 miles there and had a fun time tossing the old pig skin around.
Time - 28:43 (avg. pace 8:29)
Splits - 8:27, 8:29, 8:29, 3:18 for 0.39 (8:31 pace)
The remaining 0.30 miles was from my goofy video this morning. |

This one's for Nan, Amber, Melody, Anji, Stacie, and all you gals that are content to tell your biological misadventures to the world. I don't know what I ate last night, but boy was I gassy this morning. Usually it's one and done, but this morning it was all run long. And not the little squeakers either. There was some volume to these ones.
How you like me now?
I did see something cute, though. This little tiny Mexican kid had pulled a "Vote to Keep the Cubs in Mesa" sign out of the ground. The sign was as long as he was tall. He was so proud of himself. His mom was embarrassed when she realized what he had done.
Time - 46:38 (avg. pace 8:35)
Splits - 8:38, 8:30, 8:33, 8:36, 8:38, 3:44 for 0.44 (8:33 avg.)
Pretty consistent. Still a little sore from flag football. A good sore.

We got a free rental from Red Box the other day so we got Iron Man 2. I watched half of it that night and tried to watch the rest last night, but I forgot I had to go to mutual. By the time I finished it was after 9pm, so I decided to just leave it and run it back in the morning. It's only 0.7 miles away so I hadn't even broken a sweat yet. My quads are still sore, so I should have run slower this morning. Like a 9 min. avg. Anyway.
Time - 25:53 (avg. pace 8:26)
Splits - 8:23, 8:21, 8:35, 0:34 for 0.07 (8:21 pace) |
