I got up this morning ready to do Sam's challenge.  I had to hop on the internet to read about the correct form for doing the sit-ups.  I've always liked to do the spine-busting, back-tweaking, come all the way up and put your chest to your knees sit-ups.  But for the challenge you are supposed to do a crunchie with a 1 to 2 second isometric hold.  Who has time for that?  So I did them that way, and I hope everyone else who's doing the challenge is doing them that way, too.  Then I did my push-ups.  The website shows the proper form for the push-ups.  It's pretty standard.  I always do my push-ups like that.  Then I attempted my pull-ups, but I was so wiped out from the push-ups that I only did one.  I decided to go out and get my slow 2 miles in, then come back and attempt them again.  I also thought it would be a good idea to not have any extra weight on me when I did them, so I did them in the buff.  Afterwards I realized I can't continue to do them like that because you're supposed to YouTube yourself at the end of the challenge.

Sit-ups - 110

Push-ups - 22

Pull-ups - 3

Run time - 17:49 (avg. pace 8:55)

Splits - 8:54, 8:55

In other news, everyone should express to Eric Day their condolonces for the news the doctor's gave him not to run anymore.

Also, everyone should congratulate April on her recent victory in the Abilene Eisenhower Marathon.

I'm still running slow, and I can feel tightness in my hammy, but at least I'm running.  That's a good thing, right?  Even though I can't run fast, right now I'm feeling as fit as a fiddle.  Overall I've never felt so good, and I owe it all to P90X.  I bare testimony that P90X works.  Its methods are true.  I feel it in every fiber of my being.  Tony Horton is a true instructor.  I leave these things with you and close by saying that everyone should bring it.  Amen.

Time - 31:44 (avg. pace 9:22)

Splits  - 9:08, 9:33, 9:26, 3:38 for 0.39 (9:16 pace)

We all know that Nan played the part of Deb in Napoleon Dynamite, but did you know that her sister played the part of Trisha?

Most of that is true.

Today I saw two ladies and a big hairy dog again that I saw for the first time the last time I went running.  You know what that means.  I have to name them.  I shall call them Desperate Housewives with Tall Shaggy.  I did my WalMart bypass loop because I wanted to do more than the pathetic 3 miles I've been running lately.  I averaged 9:11 for the first 5 miles, the I thought I saw the Housewives again, and I desperately tried to catch up.  Alas, it wasn't them.  It was two new ladies.  I already have a name picked out for them if I see them again.  I have to wait, though because that's the rules.

I think Twinkies needs to worry less about posing for the camera and worry more about his surroundings.

AM Bike Ride

My neighbor bought like 100 bikes from the Tucson PD and is fixing them up and selling them.  I bought a mountain bike from him a couple of weeks ago for $25.  Then I bought another one a couple of days ago.  I rode it to work this morning.  I saw two dead rabbits, one dead coyote, one dead prairie dog, and one dead black thing.  Maybe a cat?  I was waving at all the pedestrians I saw.  I surprised one lady so much as she was talking on her cell that all she could do was say hello.  I'm sure that caused some confusion on the other end.

PM Bike Ride

Distance - 17.5 miles

Speed - 13.3 mph

I started out fast, but by the time I got to Queen Creek I really slooowwwed down.  It's been a while since done that much pedalling.  I saw a car show near my house, so my son and I rode our bikes over to have a look.  My son got too close to one of the classic cars with his bike and got yelled at.  So that made a total of 37.3 miles on the day.
