| | As I walked out the door to run today, I realized I didn't have my glasses on. That's what happens when you get out of a routine. But then I thought, that's ok. If someone sees me they might say, "Hey. Is that Burt? He looks kinda fat now. No, that's not Burt. Burt wears glasses." Genius!
There were a lot of people out this morning. Walking dogs, riding bikes, jogging. Nobody recognized me. I did see a lady who comes to our church even though she's not a member. She's there every Sunday with her kids who are members. Her husband is a member, and he never comes.

| | I decided to run the Ragnar Trail McDowell Mountain. I went to meet my team captain and empty my bill roll this morning at the Road Runner Sports 30th birthday celebration. We ran 2.5 miles and tried to win prizes. I won nothing. Weird. I always win.

| | I saw a very unflattering picture of myself on Facebook yesterday. Seriously! I know why I got to this point, but still, seriously? Err! Well, I guess I have some decisions to make. I'm not sure unflattering pictures need to be the catalyst for making those decisions, but whatever it takes. Anyway, a nice easy run again. It didn't feel easy, but the pace was. I probably need to do some sort of cardio workout in the afternoons, also.

| | I had kind of a headache this morning, and I really didn't want to get up. Curse you, Oprah. Thanks to Tara I've remembered to put Body Glide on the last two days. I doubt I'm running hard enough or long enough to need it, but you can never be too safe.

| | I took Ginger with me this morning. It's been a while for her. She knew exactly what to do. On the way home I let her drink from the magic water fountain. By which I mean I took a swig and spit it in her mouth.

| | I took a slightly different route to the canal this morning. I thought it would add some additional distance to my run. Boy was I wrong. I counted 5 walkers, two joggers, two dog walkers, and 4 bikers, one of which was Bishop. This is a boring entry. I've lost my touch.

| | I got up at 4:45am, but only because I was working at my computer last night and kept falling asleep. So I got up early to finish my work and hoped I'd have enough time for a run. I did get it done, and I wanted to run longer than what I did, but I didn't have time. I was using the Endomondo App on my phone to track my mileage, but I kept hearing her tell me, "GPS connection lost." "GPS connection restored." It only got exactly two miles of my 2.92 that I mapped out on MapMyRun. I saw Jennifer Hall running this morning along the canal. She was on my 3rd Ragnar team. Didn't realize she lived so close to me.

| | Usery Pass. I invited both of my Ragnar teams to join me. Nobody came. Typical. I haven't even run half the distance lately, not to mention they've all been dead flat. I wondered how I'd do. For that reason, I was glad nobody showed up. As I was driving down the road I realized I forgot my water. Oh well.
I saw quite a few runners on the Bush Highway on the way up there. Maybe they're gearing up for SGM next week. There were tons of cyclists. I didn't feel like counting them, not that I could have even if I tried. But I made sure to say good morning to all of them.
I heard my pace from my pocket after the first mile. I thought, "Hey, that's not too bad." But I told myself that the 2nd mile is always the slowest. Yeah, that 2nd mile was really slow, but I felt good. After 2.5 miles the hill is not as steep, so it gets easier. I kept trudging up the mountain until I got to the top occasionally talking to myself as a biker would sneak up behind me. I think with the wind at my back, they couldn't hear me.
