Today I was going to do hill sprints again.  First Emily wanted to come with me.  Try telling her no.  Anyway, after about half an hour of walking around with her in the front yard, checking the mail, and looking at imaginary cloud animals while laying in the driveway (there wasn't a cloud in the sky), I was able to go.  I went to the same place in the Floodway as last time.  But after my first attempt, it felt like my quads were going to explode from the inside.  Not wanting to pull a muscle, I stopped and just ran home.  It was pretty warm.  Low 80's probably.

Meh, hill sprints once every week or two is probably plenty; aerobic running is the ticket. How was the wheezing?

Because you're a war hero, I respect your opinion. What do you recommend for aerobic running? Fartleks?

I forgot to mention the wheezing. I took a breathing treatment before I went out. It got me kind of jittery. But there wasn't a whole lot of wheezing. Just a little.

I don't know that you need any workouts for awhile, just try to increase the time that you are running easy/aerobically. Try to go 20 min and increase it as you get more comfortable. Fartleks and hill sprints later...

Although I wouldn't trust advice from anyone who runs so weird his shoe splits in half.

I'm trying to get ready for the Ragnar Zion trail race in a month. In my previous two trail races, I was seriously lacking the training I needed for hills. So I feel like I need to incorporate a lot more hills and maybe some core training.
