AM - on the hotel treadmill (had to wait for a turn...) cold and raining outside in Atlanta and I was doing a workout, and did not want to slip out on the roads.  Hated this workout mostly because of the poor condition of the treadmill.  6 x 1000 @ 10k pace.  Hit the first 4 at 6 min pace - last two were at 6:10 - (who knows what the calibration was on the machine) - 2 mile warm up and 1 mile cool down.

The hotel staff must have been terrified: I doubt they often see fat guys banging out 6x1k @ 6 min mile pace; were they on standby with the defibrillator?

:)

Nice workout.

They did indeed seem concerned about the lard bouncing along the tready. :)

How can you be fat with almost 600 miles in only 2 months this year. Are you bellying up to the Hungry Heffer Buffet every night?

Well - not that much is different about my diet except that I resumed eating red meat a few months ago to help supplement my low iron count. I am 146 lbs - We are perhaps being a bit facetious about being fat - though I am a good 8 lbs heavier than I was in November. I think racing weight for me should be 6-8 lbs lighter.

Don't know how tall you are, but 146 doesn't exactly sound huge :) Have you noticed any changes in energy levels now that you have resumed red meat in your diet?

From Bret on Wed, Mar 06, 2013 at 07:56:18 from 216.234.133.229

I am 5'8" Jason. No - that's not huge. I have included iron supplements along with red meat and have had a marked improvement in energy level and recovery.
