I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004.

Personal:

I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again.

This morning we did a workout at Sugar House Park. We did a loop around the perimeter for the warm-up. Then we did the circuit to help us get warmed-up better. Then we did 5x1000 on a part of the state course. My times were fairly consistent but I think I could have done better. These were my times. 4:14, 4:14, 4:18, 4:14, 4:15 Afterwards we did a cooldown loop around the park. I need to remember to eat breakfast before workout, and to push myself out of the comfort zone during workouts. (Pegasus 44)

AM- This morning we ran on the trail from the zoo up to red butte and back. It felt good, it was pretty easy. Our time was 54:52, we came back 3 minutes faster than we went out so that was good. Me, Susannah, and Mary ran together.

PM- Tonight we did a lap around sugar House park for a warm-up, then we did 3 laps of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then we did a mile. I was supposed to shoot for 6 minutes I was pretty close, but a little slow. I ran a 6:03, these were my splits: 1:32, 1:31, 1:30, 1:28. Then we did 3 more laps of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Tonight I ran 6 miles at the Jordan River with my dad. Then we saw Demetrio and joined him for about a mile and a half. It was a good easy run. We ran it in about 50 minutes (It was just over 6). I was tired from the 10 mile hike we did as a xc team that morning.

AM- This morning we met at Liberty park. I was a little sore from the hike yesterday. We did 1 lap warm-up, then we did 2 laps of fireman. The group I was in had to hit 21:15 for the 3 miles, but we ended up hitting 20:50 so that was good. It was hard for me but I think I'm just tired. Then we did 1 lap cooldown.

PM- Ran 6 miles on the Jordan River Trail with my dad again. We took it easy. I ate dinner right before and by mile 2 felt pretty sick. Our time was 51:07.

This morning we didn't have XC practice so I ran at sugar house park. Just as I was getting there I saw Susannah and Amanda. Amanda was just heading home, but Susannah was doing a few more laps so I joined her. We did 2 laps then ran to her house. On the way to her house we saw her brother Clayton starting his run. At Susannah's house I got some water and then ran back to the park and did a lap on the road to make it an even 8. My shin is really hurting so I'll have to ice it more and I'm going to take some ibuprophen to see if that helps. Hopefully it won't bother me in the 1/2 tomorrow. My time for the 8 miles was 1:05:13, so just under 8:10 pace. (Pegasus 78)

This morning I was up at 3:30 to head to the start line. I slept most of the way up there but I still didn't sleep much. At the start line I didn't do any warm-up because there were too many people and I couldn't see a good spot to do one. I started the race and just ran off of feel. These were my splits:

3- 6:42

4- 6:41

5- 6:26

6- 6:24

7- 6:23

8- 6:34

9- 6:44

10- 6:48

11- 6:56

12- 7:26

13- 6:24

I took a Gu just before mile 6. I didn't really feel like taking it, but I was glad I did because at about 10 and a 1/2 my legs started to feel really heavy. Overall it was a good race. I was happy with my time, my fastest 1/2 in a while. My legs felt pretty good through out the race with a few aches here and there but my shin didn't bother me at all. After the race I jogged 2 miles, one with my mom while she finished, and one with Sasha. (Pegasus 80)
