I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004.

Personal:

I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again.

This morning I attempted to sleep in but only slept till 7, so I decided to go running. My dad was meeting a few people at the park-n-ride lot on 3700 s. and Wasatch so I went with him and just ran home. It was 3.75 miles. It took me 30:44. It felt good, nice and easy but my leg did hurt. It was also pretty windy at the start. I ran in a running skirt for the first time. It felt just like running shorts for the most part. (Pegasus 395)

Today we met at Sugar House Park. We did a warm-up lap, then we did some fartlek. We did 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 with equal recovery. It felt good, I pushed pretty hard. Afterward we did 1 lap cooldown and it ended up being just over 8 miles. Tomorrow I'm getting new shoes! :) (Pegasus 403)

AM- This morning we met at the JCC and ran up dry creek. We carried rocks up to the overlook to add to our pile. We went 3 miles out and back. Our time was 59:25. Me and Sussanah ran together. I felt good. I used new shoes today and they were a little stiff. They will take some time to break in. I also started to get a blister but I guess that just comes with new shoes. (Pegasus 6)

PM- Tonight we did a speed workout with Wasatch Athletics. We did a lap around Sugar House Park for a warm up. Then we did 3 laps of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then we started the workout. We did 1x800, 2x400, 5x200. Here were my times

800- 2:52

400- 1:18

400- 1:18

200- 35

200- 36

200- 35

200- 32

We jogged one lap between the 800 and 400's, and finished the lap on the 200's. It felt really good and I was glad to get a speed workout in finally. My leg didn't hurt except for my shin which has been hurting for a while but not enough for me to back off. Afterwards we jogged a one mile cooldown. (Pegasus 9)

This morning we did a hill workout at Cottonwood Complex. We did a 2 mile warm-up, then we did 5 strides. Then we did a hill on the Region course 10 times. It started with about 100 meters of uphill and then 200 meters of flat, so it was 300 meters alltogether. These were my times:

My legs are very tired especially by the end. My shin was hurting more than usual but I didn't take any ibuprophen so that was probably part of it. The further we got into the workout the less it hurt, so thats good. I didn't think I would be able to do all ten but I just took it one at a time and was able to eventually. I was really happy with the workout. Afterwards we did a cooldown so it would even out to 8 for the day. (Pegasus 17)

This morning we went up to Jeremy Ranch Rd. and did a bike/run relay. We were in teams of two and biked/ran a mile and then switched with our partner. I was on a team with RJ. We did 5 miles of running and 5 miles of biking. My time for the 5 miles of running was 39:42 so I felt pretty good about that. Our total time was 1:15:12. My quads were so sore and by the end of the workout they had had it. I could hardly bike, but it was a fun workout. (Pegasus 22)

Today we ran at Liberty Park. We did 2 laps for a warm-up, then we did a 3-mile tempo run. Me and Susannah did it together. It was really windy so we took turns drafting off of each other. Our time was 20:20, so we stayed really even because at the half-way point we were at 10:10. It felt good, my legs were a little bit tired towards the end. Afterwards we did a 3 mile coooldown. Our total time for the 9 miles was 1:11:24, so 7:56 pace, with the tempo at about 6:45 pace. (Pegasus 31)

This weekend me and my family were in a town called Lapoint for a family reunion. Me and my dad got up in the morning and ran 8 miles. It was cooler up there than it was in salt lake city and it felt nice. My legs felt good, but I felt sick for most of the run. Our time was 1:07:13, so 8:24 pace. On the way back we got chased by dogs a few times which helped us pick up the pace. Overall it was a good run, and I got my mileage for the week so thats good.(Pegasus 39)
