I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004.

Personal:

I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again.

This morning I went for a slow jog to help loosen up my legs for the meet this afternoon. I ran three miles on the treadmill in 25:48, so about 8:36 pace. It felt good, I had a few sore spots, but I don't think they will affect me too much for my races.

Today I warmed up one mile slow and then I did a mile of speed changes and some strides. The meet was slow, so I probably warmed up a little to soon. In the mile, I took third. I drafted off of Emma from west for the first three laps and then on the third lap she broke me off and then I got out kicked with about 150 meters to go by Ali. I still need to work on my kick, but it was better than it has been. I ran a 1:25, 1:28, 1:31, 1:30. It was a good race, and I finally was able to break six. I cooled down about a half mile. Then  I warmed up about a mile and I did some strides. Then I ran in the 3200. I kind of took it easy because there weren't too many people in the race. My total time was a 13:13. My splits were 1:30, 1:40, 1:40, 1:41, 1:41, 1:41, 1:43, and 1:33. I stayed pretty consistent, and it felt good. Then I was on a 4x400, but it was just for fun, and I don't know what my time was but I didn't push very hard.

Good job at breaking 6:00! That is a fun milestone to pass(forgive my pun). Keep going strong!
