PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

2:03:21.  (Maybe farther than 14 miles, as this is based on ~ 9 min/miles, and apparently I am running a bit faster than that, given yesterday ... But I am loathe to change my usual estimates - I am a creature of habit!).  Trail run on Campbell Mesa, pretty much the easiest set of trails in Flagstaff ... I still huffed and puffed up hills, but it was a good day, my first 2 hour run in 2 months!  I was super tired by last 18 mins, but happy to be in the mountains!

Happy Sunday bloggers.

On a grosser note, Lucy found something very dead - she rolled in it, and carried its head (?) around (Dean thinks woodchuck - I don't know as extraction of dead carcasses from dogs mouths clearly falls in the domain of "Dean's job").  It was gross, and frankly, I can't quite bring myself to pet her (despite washing her and feeding her basil to help clean her mouth out).  Sorry, but today I am thinking dogs are just super gross.

AM:(9 miles, 1:17:43).  I found a wonderful trail today.  Started up (I do mean UP) for 3 miles on a wonderful forest service road.  Then it flattened out a bit and came to a bunch of trails on top of a ridge.  The trails were a little harder than the FR road, but it was awesome, and pretty (though I couldn't see too scenery because I had to watch my footing :)).  LUCKY ME!

PM: easy 4.

Happy Tuesday, bloggers!

I had a not-so-great work week (I am working from Flagstaff), which means many many conference calls).

But, running is great!  I miss you bloggers, more later!

I wanted to run 8 today -- but I had to sneak this run in between bunches of conference calls and a little lunch date with Tracy McMillan.  Then, at night, I met up with Dean who was attending the McMillan Running Coaches clinic (he is not a coach, but Greg invited him to come and participate - because he has been running for so long -- because he is old, he he; seriously, he has actually been running for about 40 years now).  Anyway - the attendees had a dinner and I joined up with them.  One of the coaches was a coach from Yuma, AZ who is the coach of the state/US boys champion in the mile, Bernie Montoya (http://parser.dyestat.com/search.jsp?athID=166783#.UeQLNTs7hg0) he ran a 4:01 mile last year,  he also is the state boys champion at the 2 mile (9:00 min), and a host of other distances as well.  His coach, Chris, was a super nice guy, and very knowledgeable about running in general, and coaching.  Fun dinner!!

Happy Friday bloggers!
