4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (7+ miles, 66 mins).  Again, I was late and in a hurry.  So, I tried to make the best of a short run and ran hard over very hilly terrain.  Great run.  I am in a very very good mood!

PM: easy 4.

BLOGGERS!!  There is a plan!! In about 3 months I will be cancer free!!

My genetic tests came back negative, so I get to keep most of my "girl-parts"! Yea.  Met with all of my "team" today ...

So, I have my first (hopefully only) surgery on April 20th.  If margins come back good then I will start radiation on May 14th, or so, and be finished by the first part of July!! Yea.  My personal goal (not sure my team agrees with me) is that I will be training full-on by September for my birthday 50K in October (may have to be later in the month rather than right on my birthday, but that is ok).

I still have a ton of tests and procedures before the surgery -- but it is OK, I am just glad, I HAVE  PLAN ... I have dates, I have goals, I see a hopeful end in sight.  Freaking breast cancer is NOT going to mess with my running goals!

In the meantime, I have to get through the semester, finish these grant proposals, and get the hoards of collaborators off my back ;-)

ONE BIG YEAH!!! I am so happy to read this, it has made my day (or night---I will think about it tomorrow on my run and let it make my Friday as well!) I think the positive outlook you have going in to this all will pay off BIG TIME! Yeah for a plan, it has to take a load off of your mind so you can get on with all of that other stuff...

CLINK CLINK for sure!

Now, I need to be more like you and take your running advice! Do not think all of the advice that you took time typing for me fell on deaf ears. IT DID NOT! I just need to sit down and make a plan for how to put it into place. I actually was thinking a lot about it while I was running today and wishing I had it in front of me to ponder!!! I have never been such an aimless runner as I am now. I need to be more like you and get a PLAN.

Thanks for all your inspiration!!!!

Wow Bonnie. I am so sorry that I am behind and did not know you had this going on. You are so incredibly strong and wise, a good example to all of us.
