5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (8 miles, 1:11:23).  It was a cool 78F this morning -- YIPPEE.  It rained hard last night and finally, after 5 months, it is finally cool in the morning!  I can't tell you how much better it feels.

PM: easy 4.  DRAT!  Huge monsoon storm ruined my PM run.  I am not adverse to running in the rain, but these monsoons are pretty intense -- and it was so dark out that the drivers could not see me - actually, there are 3 cars that are parked on the dirt road in front of our house right now, they can't make it up the hill with the rain as bad as it is.

Can't wait to see how everyone did in their races today!  Happy Saturday bloggers.

Holy Cow, David Rudisha just ran a world leading 800 meters today in 1:41:33!!!

But would you rather have a haboob or a monsoon? :)

Yay for rain! Please send some our way. Hope things are going well :)

Merri, I think I prefer monsoons, although haboobs are more fun to talk about ;-)

Jody, I know!! Except for the fact that I did not get my 2nd run in, and we lost power right after I wrote this until this morning; I LOVE rain and I know you guys need it so badly.

knowing how intense the "monsoons" can be here in utah (not that intense, but still pretty crazy), i can only imagine what that must be like in AZ. you were smart not to risk it. i'm glad things are finally cooling down for you -- you've had a loooooong summer of heat.

1:41:33 for 800 -- insane.
