PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

10K + 1 mile w/u 2 mile c/d

Nice race, small and well organized. I got to meet a bunch of bloggers!

I was apprehensive about this race, not only because I am not really in the best of shape, but it was my first race at altitude. Overall, I was pleased with it as a workout ... consistent and a solid effort. My goal was to go out at about 1/2 marathon - 10 mile effort and the run the last two miles at 10K pace ... I ended up running a little faster at the beginning and just holding on at the end. Splits were 7:32, 7:33, 7:35, 7:24, 7:22, 7:22, 1:29 ... slight headwind the first 3 miles, so pretty even pace ...

Good people, solid run, who could ask for more?

Happy weekend bloggers.

It was so fun finally meeting you!! Thank you - congratulations on your PR!! The last 2 miles of a 10K are always tough - actually, the last 2 miles of any race are tough!

Nice time, Bonnie! Especially at altitude. And you did pick it up in the last 3 miles! I'd say it's great result in the middle of base training.

Hi Josse - I am glad you are feeling better, you bounced back quickly.

Thanks Brent, it was so nice to meet you and Sylvie today!

Hey Maria, cool story about Seb Coe! Thanks for the kudos, it was hard to get the nerve to run, when I knew I wasn't going to run well - but I am very glad I did (and it is the beginning of base ;-) ). Did you hear from Jonas? How are you feeling this weekend? We are still going to Spain in May - I wonder if we can somehow get a layover in London ... I will see if there is any way we can do it.
