5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (7.5 miles, 1:06:34). Another comfortable run up Yeatman trail.  Still feeling good, running-wise - very sleep deprived in general.  It was a little chilly today because it was wet -- drizzle/sleet at the beginning of the run and then more rain-like by the end.  The trail was slippery in spots, luckily I wasn't trying to go very fast.  Greg wanted me to take it really easy this week, so that is what I am doing, and it doesn't bug me much at all ;-), my true lazy nature is showing itself I guess.

PM: (3.5 very easy).

I hope you are all warm and dry bloggers!

Some highlights from the interview/training podcast with Greg and Brett Gotcher from last night ... the interview went for 90` instead of 60`, I haven't had a chance to listen to the whole thing yet -- hopefully this weekend.  Definitely worth a read/listen.

It sounds like you're really enjoying that Yeatman trail.

I listened to part of the interview, but haven't had time for the whole thing yet either.

Sounds like you are tolerating your easy week better than I am! Nice run.

Auntie -- I just think of it as a time for my body to rejuvinate so I can abuse it some more ;-). And, I do things that I don't normally have time to do (which right now is work a few more hours a day). Stay strong, stay the course! I was thinking of you and Sno today, we had a Northwest kind of day (gray, drizzly, etc) - since we don't get them often I don't really mind. When are you coming out, they are setting up for the Gem Show all over town.

Good work Bonnie! Glad you are taking it easy this week....when's the next race?

From Bonnie on Fri, Jan 29, 2010 at 10:04:10 from 64.119.33.134

Hi Vinh, hmmmm. well, there is a 4 mile cross-country race I might do in March, and I might jump into a 5K sometime soon (since I am pretty sure my new 5K time is lower than my current pr) - but I haven't talk with my coach yet about short term strategies and training. The long term goals we set a couple of months ago included some good 1/2 marathon training (with 1 or 2 1/2 marathons in the next 6 months) and setting our sights on another marathon next Winter/late Fall. I don't race as often as I used to, it takes my body a bit of time to recover from the training cycle these days, so I am pretty picky about how often I stress the system. I had a good year last year, and summer is generally my easy base period. PRs don't come as easy as they used to ... ;-).
