Originally was just going to do about 2 miles today but I felt good so I went for longer. Kept a pretty steady pace of just under 7:30/mile. Knees were tight before the run but felt pretty good during it, no weird clicks or pops, and just a couple times that they felt weird or had minimal pain. Achilles were a little sore/tight at the beginning but overall pretty great. I'll probably go for another run before the weekend. Maybe I'll still be able to reach 500 miles for the year. Next year I'd like to be over 1000 for the year and run my first marathon. I think it will really just depend on how well I can manage my injuries. Might abandon my sub 5 mile goal because faster running seems to cause more injury, but I also want to spend a few weeks training and then make an attempt this fall if my knees are feeling better. We'll see. |
