Warmed up 3 miles and then did 2 miles at 5k pace, a few easy laps recovery, and then another mile at 5k pace. It was 80 degrees and I felt a little tired/sore during the warm up but I felt great during the workout. The first mile was 5:24 and felt really smooth, no discomfort at all. The 2nd mile got harder and I was pretty overheated by the last lap. 2nd mile was 5:30. The last mile I felt pretty drained even after the break, I ended up running 5:31 which was a couple seconds slower than I wanted. I'll do the Grove city 4th of July 5k, which is a pretty slow course. This is probably the last year I'll be here so I want to win it or at least take top 3. I'm in a lot better shape than last year. |
