Still shooting for 4:18. But I need to take steps. We don't have a meet until march 21st so I have some time to get ready. A nice break from racing, and now we are beginning to start doing track workouts, I'm going get a huge amount faster in the next 4 weeks. And I'm going to work hard to make sure I get where I want to be. I'd like to do a time trial before the first invitational, I haven't been racing like I used to and I want to run a 1600m where I dont have to worry about positioning to get back on my feet, not for a while though. Right now I'm just excited to start working on my speed again! We did 8x200m at 1600m goal pace. So I ran 32s and 33s to average out at 4:18. I accidentally ran a 30 because people in the way and I was a little annoyed. And I ran a 31 for the last one, so a little fast. But the others were good. I walked until we regrouped after the 200s and then we jogged the rest of the recovery. I think I'm good to go again after Thursday, its not the end of the world, you've got to fail hard to succeed, I'm going to be ok and will achieve my goals as long as I work hard and trust in the workouts Murphy gives me.

Sounds like a great workout today Blake.

Hang in there and don't get discouraged. Things will come together for you.

Also, make sure you are getting enough sleep at night.

Hey Blake - a little story from my senior year of high school...

We didn't have indoor track at my school, so I ran over the winter by myself, did a couple road races, etc.

Outdoor track practice started around the end of February. My coach had me do a 1600m time trial to see where I was at. I think I ran right around 5:00. I ran 4:17 in May.

So keep your head in the game, stay positive, a lot can happen in the next couple months. And make sure you are enjoying the training and racing too.

I am rooting for you!!

Thank you! I really hope my senior turns out to be like yours, I definitely need to get my mentality right and try to get more comfortable with running, I feel like I need to get in a rhythm, running hasn't been feeling like it usually does. But I think I'm a little sick so hopefully it will get better soon!
