| Location: Salt Lake City,UT, Member Since: Dec 29, 2009 Gender: Male Goal Type: Marathon Finish Running Accomplishments: A marathon runner just trying to enjoy good health and running long. 22 years between marathon 6 & 7, raising kids. 48 marathons and counting. Average finishing time ~ 3:25. Want to keep this average above 3:30 as I continue to age deepin into my 50's. Looking for a 3:12 in SLC 2012 Short-Term Running Goals: Keep my SL Marathon time in "teens". Possibly break the teens (3:12 - 3:00). Two screws in right knee gives me a reality check on my ambitions. I don't want to sacrafice my joint for too crazy of a goal. Good health is my real goal. Long-Term Running Goals: Continue running strong into my 60's, and add to my marathon count. In 1982 I finished St. George at 2:57, 1 second behind a 60 year old. I've always wondered if I could break 3 hours when I'm in my 60's. I'd like to find out. Personal: Married 26 years. Rosalie and I have 4 children. Love running hills, especially up Millcreek Canyon. I live 3/4 mile from its base.

| Intended to run to top of millcreek canyon. Left at 6:10. It didn't start to get light until elbow fork, and the sky started to turn azure. Around Clover Springs, the road was very slippery, then it got more so, and icy with snow. I thought about turning around right then, but all of a sudden it cleared entirely for a 200 yard stretch just past Alexander basin. By the time I reached K-springs, I was out of time and it was way too slippery. Turned around. Talked with Kent Landvatter, Steve Ostler, and saw Scott Stein and Greg Randall on their bikes. |

| A casual run up monster in 28:10, then back home at 57. Not too rushed, but feeling heavy. Has been cold and snowed. Got to get myself into the cold weather gear. |

| The loop to eastwood, by way of the trails on Grandeur as the sun had gone down and the lights from the city illuminated the early dusk. Seemed like I ran fast, but it was 59:49. Not bad. | Add Comment |

| Up around eastwood and down Palisade. Watched as the snow front hit the valley, and within 4 hours of returning, there was already 6 inches of snow. |

| Monster run. A cold front hit last Saturday night and lasted through the week. Wednesday night was another cold front, dropping a few inches of snow, with 30 MPH wind, and temps down to 4-degrees. After the sun rose I ran the Monster, having taken the week off. It felt good to get out again, but I've also enjoyed the week of relaxation. |
