Was doing aging research but for now switching to chemistry and am planning to write a science fiction novel.

First year I have trained properly, 2nd year of being serious about running.

Ran at Huntington, ran 5.15 miles around 9:45 pace and then on a whim decided i wanted to push myself a bit and did 3 miles at tempo pace. Ran 7:32, 7:02, 7:18. Net uphill gain of 150 feet. Felt pretty good. I like running fast now. The 70 miles a week feels pretty doable and comfortable. Cooled down for ~0.9 miles and called it a day. 

weighed myself on the scale this morning for the first time in a couple months. didn't realize my parents had a scale. 167 :(

as i recall i was down to 164 or so on Haynes' scale, although i always weighed myself after running instead of before so i may have had some water loss. Whatever, i'm sure i'll lose weight in iceland cause the food is so expensive. it's just hard to not eat tons when you go out to eat with your parents and you don't have to pay for anything.

ran 1hr 46 at huntington. Stupid GPS watch started counting the mileage backwards after 9.1 so I think i may have run more. I don't usually look at the watch but i wonder if i haven't been running more than the watch has been reading due to the signal going out. the next week i'll have to run roads i guess at cape cod...good to get a last trail run in. i keep forgetting to keep track of the mileage on my shoes. i have 119 miles on my road shoes and 70 now on my trail runners.

was in providence so i ran the Haynes classic training run...1hr 15 min, it felt good to actually run under 8 min mile pace for the first time in weeks. 128 miles on brooks.

Ran at nickerson state park in cape cod today. Mostly pavement but a few miles of dirt trails/roads. First mile was 9 min and then after that averaged 7:30 for the next 8. Pushed myself a bit, the run was fun on windy hilly bike trails. Tomorrow i'm going to go explore jeremy point, which is an ~8 mile round trip trail run i think. will go at low tide in the afternoon so i can go as far out as possible. Today I went out at low tide at the bay and was able to walk out 1.1 miles before turning around. Nothing above the knee. Could have gone farther but it was getting close to dinner time.

Went to Jeremy point....at least i think so, it was hard to tell since i could have went out farther since i went at the lowest possible tide. It was supposed to be 4.1 miles to the point but it took me 4.45 and was entirely a sand path. I had a tick on me from a tall grass section but got it off before it could bite. There was no one there at all...i had 2 miles of beach all to myself and the birds. The running on the sand was challenging. many dead birds and shells and horseshoe crabs that were just shells. wish i had more time just to hang out there and relax. Running time 1hr 26. shoe mileage 146 on brooks.

1hr 25 min on mostly rolling bike trail at nickerson. some dirt. looking to do a longer run on sand tomorrow to reach 70. may go back to jeremy point as it was awesome...not liking the pavement. also not stretching or icing lately. extremely foolish.
