Really enjoyed this race. I had people around me who pushed me through the halfway point which was up hill. A long probably 900ft climb was really painful. The run down I pushed almost too hard to enjoy as i tried to drop someone who beat me the previous week and saw there was also another guy 52 who beat me the previous week as well and passed me when i took a wrong turn. I was able to hold them all off. I love my new puma trailfox racing shoes and can't recommend them enough. Wish I was faster but am just not...the winner beat me by 15 minutes which is a really sick time for a course like this one that was mostly on a jeep road and not technical, but it climbed 1900ft total. Not sure if i'll drive the 3hrs to race next weekend. May do another 70 mileage week instead of the 55  I do during race weeks. I'm planning tentatively on a trail marathon 2 weeks from now.

I am definitely doing the half in 2 weeks. My endurance just isn't there right now. I actually think I am in not so great shape right now. I am back on a good diet, but that will take a few weeks to get any results from. I am gonna do the red rooster ramble tomorrow as a tempo which will give me some idea of where I am for that and shorter races. And I am gonna do this 17.5 mile race sunday which will hopefully jump start the process of getting me into shape. I know its gonna totally kick myand I can't wait. Because then its just a matter of 1-2 more times getting horribly sore until I am invincible for a while (hopefully until after the marathon).

make sure you send in your race app tomorrow. you need to send it by sept 1, and there's no day of race registration. i send mine in today.

I missed the deadline, but I am sort of happy about it because 45$ is too much.
