ran 1hr 46 at huntington. Stupid GPS watch started counting the mileage backwards after 9.1 so I think i may have run more. I don't usually look at the watch but i wonder if i haven't been running more than the watch has been reading due to the signal going out. the next week i'll have to run roads i guess at cape cod...good to get a last trail run in. i keep forgetting to keep track of the mileage on my shoes. i have 119 miles on my road shoes and 70 now on my trail runners.

How did it count the mileage backwards? I don't even understand what you mean by that. Sarah wants me to go to erie, PA to do a marathon with her in sept. Its like 8 hours away and doesn't work with my training. She is crazy. But it looks like she has a relay team for the cape cod marathon, so she will be coming with us to that. I am also bad at keeping track of miles on shoes. I haven't thrown away my brooks flats yet but I think I will because I wore them on my 8 mile mary pace run the other day and the holes widened and gave me a small blood blister on my right foot. And my two new pairs of shoes look ridiculously old now that I have run >3 times on trails in each, lol.

this has happened to me several times actually. It has happened before when the batteries were low but that was not the case this time. I turned around (out and back) in the woods and the watch was at 9.31, then 9.30.....9.1. I turned it off and it couldn't find the satellite and when it did it went up to 459 feet and then started counting back down again. It really pissed me off. I'm actually in providence right now visiting a friend. I think i'll do our old blackstone run tomorrow morning to get as much dirt in as i can before cape cod. what do you think...i may as well just keep the mileage at 70 and just do whatever 1 week before. i never did by the daniels book so don't know what he suggests....i was just thinking how fast your 2:07 18 mile trail race was...must have been short for sure :)

i'm the complete opposite of you, i won't touch a shoe with more than 500 miles on it...until you get a stress fracture i wouldn't be scared either.
