spent 6 hrs cleaning the apt up then decided to run again. felt much looser and went a good bit faster although still not under 8 min pace. afternoon run 5.15 miles

I just read your ambition to write a science fiction novel. Should be fascinating with your background in science..Triple majored...never heard of that before. Wow!

Solid day. Im finally trail running this evening. I got slightly put off of it by the ridiculous poison ivy rash I developed just after I got home. Its still there but I finally got some hydrocortisone cream to put on it.

The mileage board is owning us currently. I will make it back on the first page with tonight's run though. Probably will do 13 ~ 80% of the trails in the park near my house (the park has 3 loops of 8, 5, and 3 miles). I'll bring my gps. I am running with this guy who claims to have an easy pace of 7-7:30 but only runs 40-50 mpw and hasn't been doing workouts. So we will see. He doesn't usually run trails and I won't let him dictate the pace unless its slower than I want to go. I don't know his race times.

The only thing with trail runs and the mileage board is that a good trail run will take often 20-30% longer than equivalent effort on the road, so we put in more time for less mileage. But it is still worth it to be on dirt rather than pounding pavement.

Yeah and also the not just even trail running per se but also the hills. i moved to CT today and did a run and you can't find anything flat here. all rolling hills. there should be a time ran tally i think! i refuse to run on pavement unless it's a tempo run or race...i feel guilty when i do :)
