Windy day and two bridges to climb, but getting better.  Priformis still giving me fits and my lower back tightened up to knots before I finished.  Stayed even splits, within 2 seconds the whole way.  Did kick in though.

You know how I'm supposed to run 5/7 days a week? Well I missed 3 days already so can only run 4 days this week. Should the remainder of my runs be 3 really long ones to add 5 miles this week, should I do multiple runs in one day, or what should I do?

Went out the SLC track club 10 K weather conditions were tough and again I got there minutes before the start so no warm up at all.  Added on a few miles after and then handed out entry forms for the Running of the Leopards 5K on March 28, 2009.  I had a couple people fill it out and pay on the spot.  It is going to be a great race.  All levels are welcome, we will have walkers to elites.

Finished my weekly mileage running to the gym and working it on the thread mill.  A quick soak in the hot tub to end the day.

Sunny nice day to get out for a long run.  From the house to SHP then to legacy and via 11th ave up city creek 1.5 miles then down memory grove to the college of massage for a rewarding rub down.

laps on the grass at SHP sloppy but t shirt and shorts weather today.

Took the kids to the pool so I swam laps for 30 minutes and then ran a mile on the indoor track there. 18 laps it is a small track and I ran bare footed.

Flanigan circuit in the morning 2 sets, some plyometric box jumps 1 minutes X 3 with equal recovery, 3 sets of wall sits.

Afternoon ran 3.5 with EHS track

8.5 miles from capitol to U golf course and back via 11th Ave.

14 miles on JRT.  It was a beautiful day to run with friends.  Felt like I could have gone more but wanted to live by the 10% rule because of the piriformis, glute, hamstring trouble I'm having.  Need to find the cure.

Cool. I often run down Memory Grove but hadn't thought of ending at the UTMC. How long did you have to wait for your reward?

I cheat and have my wife put us on the list early. Trouble is the wait when she put us on was only 30 minutes and it took me 2:35 to get there. So they had called my name a few times and I had to wait about 45 minutes from when I got there. It gave me time to stretch which I never do enough of.

Afternoon 5 Miles with East High Team.  We ran up to the zoo from the track and then ran the Running of the Leopards 5K course that will be held on March 28th, it is going to be a good race for all levels.

WA workout at the oval 10 miles followed by free short stack at IHOP.

Ran from the capitol back home.  Opposite course from last week and I think I like it better.  Same climbing both directions, but it's like a horse coming back to the barn.  You just want to get there quickier.

AM 6 miles Liberty Park

afternoon 7 miles with East High Track team from the track to zoo trailhead, then to red Butte across legacy bridge and back down to the track through campus.  Very windy.

Oval closed this week so ran tonight 8 miles on the treadmill at the gym and finished with stretching and weights.  I did the same thing last night so I was a little sore in some spots.  I have decided to add weights to my routine and see if the blood flow will work out my problem with piriformis, hamstring, siatic nerve.  The leg buckles under me some things in stride.  Or it can go numb.  I just don't have the lift or push off I need to run fast.  I have been seeing a chiropractor weekly, got some accupunture, have regular massages and nothing makes it go away.  Not even the anti-inflammatory meds.  So now I will try lifting and stretching to see what it does.

6 miles before the EHS track workout on a combination of grass and track running the outer edgeof the soccer field and part of the track.  Very windy.

7 miles at the gym on the treadmill watching the jazz game.  It was raining outside and starting to snow.

Met Bill G at the JRT for 7 miles jumped in the car and drove to the EHS track and ran 6 miles with the team down to liberty and a couple grass loops then back to the track.  Ended the night at the gym with 4 miles on the treadmill.

Met some of the wasatch group for a long run this morning.  I was only going to do 13 but decided to throw the ten percent rule out and went 21.  We did 4 draper loops and was .30 over a 20 so I talked them in to just a little more to round it off to even mileage.  If things go good tonight I hopw to add two more miles to hit 120 for the week.

20 miles this morning early from capitol home via the bridges by Parley's and along Wasatch, ice bath and a massage.  Then I rode the bike trying to make the changes needed for the salt lake marathon.  I think the new course for the half will work good.  I still think changes will be needed to fix the half and full.

Am laps at liberty park, trying to get it in before the storm. 10.5 miles

PM treadmill at the gym 9.5 miles.  It was a fun run because I found a treadmill that would run down hill at 3% grade.  It made things easier, but it also made me run much faster overall.  By the end I was going 10 MPH pace for the last 1.5.
