First workout feeling strong in a long time. I spent all day at the desk doing taxes and finally got to the gym at 8pm. It was sunny all day while I sat inside surrounded by papers and was pouring rain when I had time to run. 30 minutes good lifting then hit the treadmill. Good constant tempo run, 5 miles at 6 min pace, 3 miles at 5:27 pace, 2 miles at 6. Then hopped in the pool with the masters team for a 250 meter swim (slow).

Just a couple of short breaks today to sqeeze in some runs.  3 miles in the am and 3 in the evening in Spokane on that awesome river trail.

Just finished a great book on Captain Kidd, "The Pirate Hunter".  A new perspective on that story.

Seriously early morning run that took all my dedication just to start, just wasn't feeling the urge today.  Also back to doing long runs with no food intake, which adds to the general pleasantness.

Amazing fall day.  I did reader testing all morning for the kids school and then vision screening.  Best morning ever.  Wish I was a school teacher.

Headed out after lunch on the Shoreline trail and connected up to Lightning Lake trail.  I LOVE living in this state!  Really slow, easy run.

I had a work trip out of Salt Lake this morning and this race fit in right before it, since it's on the circuit as the last one I drove down an hour early for work and sqeaked it in.

After two twenty milers this week starting base training and a 50 mile R2R2R of the Grand Canyon coming up Saturday I decided to enjoy this today and pace a 5:45. It was nice to finally get to enjoy a 5k instead of killing myself. The course was much improved over last year and it was a lot of fun to see the lead pack going out so fast. I know from other 5ks around the country that I've ran, that our competition here is so much better. Awesome to see so many bloggers running so well.

I had to take off immediately after the race and fly to Lubbock, TX to pick up the Kansas State football team and take them to Manhatten, KS, which I didn't even know existed before today. Since the team was looking at a three hour delay I was able to get out and get the rest of my run in to try and hit my 100 mile week.

Almost made it..
