Fun race!  I had decided to just take it easy today and have a good time with the run since it was a hilly run and I had no time to see the course.  I'm not a very good hill runner, just have not trained for them so I have no confidence when it comes to these kind of races.  I started out slow and after a mile or two I decided I better pick up the pace.  Walter and Ben were way out front.  It looked like they were half a mile ahead but it felt so good to just be tooling along and enjoying it.  When the downhill stretch came along at around two miles picked it up enough to catch up at least to Walter.  Then Bastard Hill came along, on the 10K it just kicked my butt, today it didn't seem that bad.  Maybe some of these runs have been paying off or maybe it's just not running the course after a marathon.  I thought someone would pass me for sure on the hills so I let it go each time I went down to at least keep some kind of a good pace up.  I wanted to run an average of 5:45 on this course but just settled for a 6:00 pace and just enjoyed the run.

Great race Steve. I almost went up this morning to test myself on that tough course.Opted for a workout instead. I'm really looking forward to the Salt Lake Half and hope to see you there. I don't think I'll be at Ogden - state track meet that day. I'm looking at the Minneapolis Marathon the first week in June instead.

Thanks guys. Whoever put that course together was insane. Rob, we'll miss you at Ogden this year is going to be a competitive one for masters. I know some guys are comming down from Boulder, CO to run it. Is the Minneapolis the USATF Championship again? Paul, love to carpool with ya. Let's hookup. I think you're confusing the Minneapolis Marathon in June with the much older and more famous Twin Cities Marathon in October. Minneapolis is just a second year race. Out and back course along the Mississippi River south to Fort Snelling State Park and back.A 41 year-old won it last year in 2:42. So who knows, could be fun. There is a half as well - maybe you'll be in MSP that wekend?

Nice run. I didn't think it was possible to take it easy on this route. Not running a marathon the week before made it easier to go up all the hills.

Steve- don't put something in Paul's drink to slow him down. Put something in his drink to knock him out for 4 hours!

Those courses are great. They sure are a "training series". You won't set any PR's, but they certainly toughen you up for the summer.

Steve, you did a lot better going up old bastard! It was so nice to have it behind me and then right after the 6 mile mark another couple hit you huh? then mile 9 ugh it is a bugger of a course. You blasted on the down parts! Everytime I got to striking distance you gained another 200 yards! The next two races are a lot better!
