Ran Blacksmith Fork in the fog this morning. The Grand Canyon is being increasingly "pussyfied" by the NPS. The huge facilities being built in Cottonwood Campground are one of the most disappointing things I've seen. At least it's no problem to head off corridor to find other quiet R2R2R trails. I was able this week to spend six hours in NAU library and get copies of Harvey Buchart's original trail maps and logs. These are going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking for a path to do a R2R2R from Grandview Trail down to the river and up Wotans Throne and over to Cape Royale. Then back.
