1/2 marathon: Geoduck Gallop, February 2011. 1:42:23, 1st in age group.
Waterfront 15K (September 2010), 1:14:43. 3rd in AG. Lake Padden Duathlon (July 2010), 1:36:something. 1st in AG . 10K: Smelt Run, La Conner (2010) 47:14. 2nd in AG. I have fun every time I run, and have recently overcome the "I can't go fast anymore" hurdle. I'm having fun going faster and working towards becoming even faster. I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not. I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain. Short-Term Running Goals: Work towards a faster marathon by Spring 2012. Get my 5K down to 21:30. Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon. Train for biathlon.
Long-Term Running Goals: Joining Forrest Gump

Off. Day off. Off day. OK, so it was supposed to be a day off, but it turned into a bike ride day. SOoo windy! And, in the end, quite rainy as well. It was fun coming back against the headwind, up the hills. Back barely in time to greet the dinner guests as they pulled into the driveway. Luckily I was in my nice bike clothes! Dark clouds are looming from every side it seems: how wet will we get? |

one hour and 50 minutes on the bike today, high cadence with standing climb on the hills. Yoga class this morning. This was a lovely class; 1 1/2 hours, as usual, but the whole class was "restorative poses". What this means is that we get ourselves situated in a pose that involved many blocks, blankets, bolsters, chairs and belts, and just hang out there for awhile. The poses are not "active", but are very restful while still releasing key tension spots. It was perfect for me for today. |

| Early yoga and bike ride. 3 1/2 hours of exercise, and its only 9:30 now! Biking certainly takes more time than running. Glad I did it when I did though, because now it is raining! I've been so lucky lately to get beautiful rides outside. I got a bit wet this morning near the end, but its not so bad. |

UGH! I'm supposed to do 50 miles (about 3 hours on the bike today, and its just not fit biking weather outdoors. I managed an hour and a half this morning before I fell off of the bike from boredom. Can I actually ride for another 1 1/2 hours this evening? PM update: I only made it another hour, late last night. Ugh! |
