Mt. Ranier Duathlon, May 1, 2011. 3:05:00, 1st in age group. 5.1 mile run, 28 mile bike ride, 3.78 mile run.

5K: Fun With the Fuzz, April 23, 2011. 21:59, 1st in age group.

Marathon: Paris, April 10, 2011. 4:05:24.

1/2 marathon: Geoduck Gallop, February 2011. 1:42:23, 1st in age group.

Waterfront 15K (September 2010), 1:14:43. 3rd in AG.

Lake Padden Duathlon (July 2010), 1:36:something. 1st in AG .

10K: Smelt Run, La Conner (2010) 47:14. 2nd in AG.

I have fun every time I run, and have recently overcome the "I can't go fast anymore" hurdle. I'm having fun going faster and working towards becoming even faster.

I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not.

I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Work towards a faster marathon by Spring 2012.

Get my 5K down to 21:30.

Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon.

Train for biathlon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Last longish run before Chicago. Some easy, some at MP. Tried out my marathon shorts - turns out I have to wear the hideous pink ones that I think might be to short to wear in public, because they have a whole row of handy pockets across the back. I like them much better after trying out all the pockets on this morning's run.

I will be the old lady running in the short short bright pink shorts! With a row of muffin tops along the back to hold my stuff. I will try to get a picture, especially of the backside, which looks quite funny!

handy pockets are good. running shorts can never be too short, right? ok, maybe they can, but i am sure yours are fine.

Allie: I DO want the pink shoes; I want YOURS. What are they? For the marathon, I purchased what I believe are the ugliest running shoes I've ever owned. My right big toe is finicky at the moment, so I thought I'd ditch the Brooks Launch's for the marathon, and buy something SLIGHTLY more supportive under the ball of the foot. I got the Nike LunarFlys, still quite light, but better for the toe. They are absolutely atrocious! Baby blue/aqua, with an orange swoosh

Yes, it is my only muffin top, although my daughter likes to tell me that I have real ones in her more cruel moments. And the ones on my shorts will actually get visibly smaller as I run!
