I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not.

I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Work towards a faster marathon by Spring 2012.

Get my 5K down to 21:30.

Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon.

Train for biathlon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Joining Forrest Gump

Just a few miles this morning, interspersed with running drills, and followed by yoga class.  I'm supposed to do a major interval training session on the bike today, so I'm waiting to see what the weather will be like.  I'd really like to be outdoors for the biking, but so far this morning it has POURED rain, sunshined, blown hard, and HAILED.  Not very predictable!

Will edit later after I've comleted the biking one way or another. Lots of busy work to do right now.

PM Update:  The weather stayed wildly unpredictable, so I finally just did my bike ride here.  Rode for 70 minutes as:  15 wu, 4X5 minutes intervals with 2 minutes RI inbetween, followed by 27 minutes cd.  Easy riding was at 15-16 mph, and intervals were at 19-20, on resistance level 5, whatever that means.  I guess that this is my tempo workout.  Not as satisfying as running a tempo workout.  WHINE, WHINE.

That's sound wild weather. Good luck with the bike ride.

At least you still did a workout! I think most people would just not do it.

I know nothing about bike riding. What would that biking workout be comparable to, running-wise? Significantly faster than easy on the interval? A minute faster?

I'd think indoor biking would be more monotonous than treadmill running. But what do I know?
